Born and raised in New York City, Dr. Chan got his Doctorate in Dental Surgery from New York University. He had previously completed his undergraduate study with a BS in Business and Technology Management and also worked in finance for twenty years before deciding to obtain his Masters in Oral Biology and eventually pursue his dream of becoming a dentist. He continued his training by successfully completing a General Practice Residency at Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, NY. After working for several years in Philadelphia and other parts of Pennsylvania, he chose to return to New Jersey, which he now calls home.
Dr. Chan takes a simple approach to treating patients: one with compassion, an emphasis on forming long term relationships, and going the extra mile to ensure the best quality of care. He is a firm believer in lifelong learning, having since spent hundreds of hours advancing his skills by attending seminars and courses emphasizing in cosmetic rehabilitation, advanced orthodontics and endodontics, implant dentistry, Botox and dermal fillers to help with “TMJ” or jaw pain as well as alternate “needle-less” ways of treating patients with conscious sedation.
Dr. Chan earned his Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD) in 2022, an award achieved by only about 7% of dentists in the nation. He is also an active member of the ADA, AGD and NJDA dental associations. He has also been part of some service oriented groups providing free care both domestically and overseas over the last couple of years
His active professional memberships include: American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry and the New Jersey Dental Association
In his free time, Dr. Chan is an avid snowboarder. He enjoys exploring the food scene, the history, and the culture that New Jersey has to offer, and the place he now calls home.
